She has completed her MD and PhD in Clinical Pharmacology from Pavia University, Italy. She is a Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Genova, Italy. Main research fields are glutamatergic transmission: ionotropic/metabotropic receptors and release of neuro- and glio-transmitters in physiological conditions and in pathological animal models; network activity and transmitter receptors in neuron-astrocyte networks on multi electrode arrays: effects of neuroactive substances and neurotoxicants. She has over 85 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has been serving as a Reviewer of reputed journals.

Maria Walczak graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy Medical Academy in Krakow (Poland). She received her PhD degree at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Jagiellonian University Medical College (UJ CM) in Krakow, where she defended her habilitation thesis in pharmacokinetics in 2014. From 2001 to 2015 she worked at the Department of Pharmacokinetics and Physical Pharmacy UJ CM as an assistant professor. Since 2010 she has become a manager of the Laboratory of Analytics and Pharmacokinetics at the Jagiellonian Centre for Experimental Therapeutics (JCET) and since 2015 she has become a head of Chair and Department of Toxicology, Faculty of Pharmacy UJ CM. Her scientific work refers to pharmacokinetics, toxicokinetics, toxicometry, metabolite screening, targeted lipidomics and proteomics and ligand binding to blood proteins. She is involved in bioanalysis of novel compounds and biomarkers related to cancer metastasis using LC/MS/MS system. She is a specialist in the clinical pharmacy issues.

He was a director of Tanta poison center, faculty of medicine Tanta University, Egypt until 2013 when he served as professor of clinical toxicology, Al-Qassim University, KSA until now. He received his MB BCH degree and graduated and Master and MD degrees in clinical toxicology from Tanta faculty of medicine, Egypt in 1989. He has awarded research prize by International society of the study of Xenobiotics, USA, Tanta University, Egypt. He is the author of 30 publications in the field of clinical toxicology and has particular research interests in childhood poisoning, drug abuse and the investigation of drug. He is a member of many societies as Egyptian society of Toxicology, International society of the study of Xenobiotics, USA, Egyptian society of Pharmacology and experimental therapeutics and Egyptian society of Anthropology He is chosen as Man of the year in 2012 in clinical toxicology by the American biographical institute, USA. He was one of the Founders of Egyptian Arabic Scientific Research Data Bank Institute of Graduate Studies and Researches, Alexandria University. He is the founder of Tanta poison center, emergency hospital, faculty of medicine, Tanta University, 2007. He is a reviewer in many journals & member of the reviewer of “Egyptian Committee of Toxicology for the evaluation and the assessment of research articles for the position of assistant professor and professor of all Egyptian universities”; ethical aspects concerning each research article conduct is reviewed and evaluated.

Henry M Sobell completed his studies at Brooklyn Technical High School (1948-1952), Columbia College (1952-1956), and the University of Virginia School of Medicine (1956-1960). Instead of practicing clinical medicine, he then went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to join Professor Alexander Rich in the Department of Biology (1960-1965), where, as a Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Fellow, he learned the technique of single crystal X-ray analysis. He then joined the Chemistry Department at the University of Rochester, having been subsequently jointly appointed to both the Chemistry and Molecular Biophysics departments (the latter at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry), becoming a full tenured Professor in both departments (1965-1993). He is now retired and living in the Adirondacks in New York, USA.

Prof Dr Esra KÜPEL? AKKOL was born in Turkey. She got her Bachelor of Science degree in Faculty of Pharmacy, Gazi University, Turkey and got her Ph.D. degree in Pharmacognosy Department from the University of Gazi. She is currently Professor in the Gazi University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacognosy.
