Professor Dr Ahmad Zuhairi Abdullah is currently attached to the School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He received his PhD from Universiti Sains Malaysia in PhD (2004) in the field of chemical engineering. His research works mostly encompass the use of novel functionalized nanoporous materials as catalysts in was treatment, oleochemical conversions, green technology and production of renewable energy sources. He is among the pioneer researchers in the world to focus on the use of ultrasound to accelerate heterogeneous catalytic processes. He is the recipient of several innovation and publication awards based on his research works. His research expertise is often sought after for the assessment of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports on proposed strategic commercial projects such as oil refinery, petrochemical complex, sanitary landfill, smelting plant, used acid lead battery, paper mill etc. Various industrial problems have been successfully solved through his consultancy projects. He has been involved in the propagation of science and technology through more than 200 refereed publications in journals and book chapters mainly as the main author, and also involves as a technical committee member to nearly 110 international scientific conferences held across the globe. Many invitations on various roles have also been received locally and internationally to share his research experience with government officers, research scientists, junior researchers and school children. The objectives of the events vary from the latest development in nanoporous materials research, critical research skills, understanding science, promotion of sustainability, community awareness, carrier development to the understanding of policy and regulatory aspects. He is an academic external assessor to UniMAP and UniKL-MICET for their undergraduate and doctoral program, respectively while acted as an assessor for the selection of National Centre of Excellence (HICoE) in Malaysia. He also acts as an article reviewer to more than 100 different leading international journals in his area of expertise. In addition, he is an evaluator to research proposals received from the university, local ministries as well as international scientific associations in the USA, Oman, Qatar and Chile. He is one of the recipients of the Top Research Scientist Malaysia 2014 award. His h-index (Scopus) currently stands at 48.

Professor Hudson has been investigating the properties of linear conjugated polyenes in his Ph.D. thesis research at Harvard with Bryan E. Kohler in 1968. Initial emphasis was the discovery that the lowest energy singlet excitation of all linear conjugated polyenes involves significant 2-electron excitation. Most recently he and his co-workers have investigated the photopolymerization of linear conjugated polyenes with terminal iodine atoms with the aim of preparation of fully extended polymers that span the length of the host crystal. This possibility occurred to him in 1978. This process occurs with loss of iodine from the crystal monitored by mass loss.

Dr Kong Fah Tee, BEng(Hons) PhD PGCert(HE) MBA DIC FHEA, is a Reader in Infrastructure Engineering at the University of Greenwich. His research effort has been focused on structural system identification and health monitoring, structural reliability and failure analysis, experimental stress analysis, fatigue, fracture mechanics and structural dynamics. He has published a book and more than 170 papers, of which 100 are in the refereed international journals. He has been awarded research grants with the total amount of over £1M. He has supervised 8 PhD students to successful completion. He is currently serving as an Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Forensic Engineering (Inderscience), editorial board members for over 20 international journals and organizing committee/international scientific committee for over 35 international conferences. He was awarded an International Research Collaboration Award from the University of Sydney and invited as a foreign expert to the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He has been invited as an expert witness and a forensic engineering consultant to industry. He is a regular reviewer of papers, books, research proposals as well as an external examiner of research degrees. He has given a short course, two keynote speeches and over 30 seminars and conference presentations.

Professor Vladimir G. Chigrinov is Professor of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology since 1999. He is an Expert in Flat Panel Technology in Russia, recognized by the World Technology Evaluation Centre, 1994, and SID Fellow since 2008. He is an author of 6 books, 32 reviews and book chapters, about 309 journal papers, more than 661 Conference presentations, and 112 patents and patent applications including 34 US patents in the field of liquid crystals since 1974. He got Excellent Research Award of HKUST School of Engineering in 2012. He obtained Gold Medal and The Best Award in the Invention & Innovation Awards 2014 held at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2014, which was hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 20-22 Feb 2014. He got A Slottow Owaki Prize of SID in 2018. He is 2019 Distinguished Fellow of IETI (International Engineering and Technology Institute). He is an active Member of EU Academy of Sciences (EUAS) since November 2019.

Emo Chiellini graduated in Chemistry in 1963 at the University of Pisa. He performed his academic career at the Department of Chemistry and lndustrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa and at European and Extraeuropean Universities as Researcher/Professor [University of Liverpool (UK), Moscow State University (Russia), University of Massachusetts at Amherst (USA), University of Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo & Campinas (Brazil), University of Nagasaki (Japan), and University of Mogadishu (Somalia). In 1980 he was appointed, after teaching as Uncharged Professor for 17 years at the Department of Chemistry & lndustrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa, as Full Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Pisa, where he was acting as Lecturer of Chemical Fundamentals of Technologies until 2010 giving Courses in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Materials Science & Technology. His main interest for more than half a century in Science & Technology of Polymeric Materials includes Bioactive Polymers for Biomedical,Pharmaceutical & Environmental Applications, Biodegradable Polymeric Materials, Nanoscience & Nanomaterials. Recently he has been the Assignee of the prestigious “Giulio Natta” 2018 Chemistry Award.

Dr. Imran Oral is an Associate Professor at Physics Education Department of Necmettin Erbakan University in Turkey. He graduated in Physics Education at Selcuk University in 2003 as first honour degree. He completed his PhD at Selcuk University in 2011 (Konya, Turkey). He worked as research assistant during 2005-2011 at Selcuk University and shifted to Necmettin Erbakan University in 2012. He did his first postdoc in Ultrasonic Materials Characterization by the scholarship of the Higher Educational Council of Turkey (YÖK) at Center for Non-destructive Evaluation (CNDE) of Iowa State University in USA (2011-2012). He did his second postdoc in Non-linear Acoustics and Ultrasonic Materials Characterization by the scholarship of The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (2219-TÜB?TAK) at Acoustic Laboratory of Maine University (LAUM) in France (2014-2015). He is an expert in the NDT, Ultrasonic Materials Characterisation, Composite materials and Physics education. He was Principal Investigator in 3 projects. He supervised 3 M.Sc theses.

Osman Adiguzel graduated from Department of Physics, Ankara University, Turkey in 1974 and received PhD- degree from Dicle University, Diyarbakir-Turkey. He studied at Surrey University, Guildford, UK, as a post doctoral research scientist in 1986-1987, and his studies focused on shape memory alloys. He worked as research assistant, 1975-80, at Dicle University and shifted to Firat University in 1980. He became professor in 1996, and he has been retired due to the age limit of 67; following academic life of 45 years. He served his directorate of Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Firat University in 1999-2004. He supervised 5 PhD- theses and 3 M.Sc theses. He is also Technical committee member of many conferences. He received a certificate which is being awarded to him and his experimental group in recognition of significant contribution of 2 patterns to the Powder Diffraction File – Release 2000. The ICDD (International Centre for Diffraction Data) also appreciates cooperation of his group and interest in Powder Diffraction File. Scientific fields: Shape memory effect and displacive phase transformations in shape memory alloys and other alloys, molecular dynamics simulations, alloy modeling, electron microscopy, electron diffraction, x-ray diffraction and crystallography.
